Cracks Beneath The Surface . . . .

This week, private credit concerns resurfaced appear to be intensifying rapidly . . . . Particularly hard hit, the auto sector’s subprime debt. U.S. regional bank shares plunged last week, those with exposure to the now-bankrupt First Brand and Tricolor.

These cracks, this scenario are eerily similar to 2007 when noise was first heard from a stressed subprime debt market. Bear Stearns in 2007 announced they were in solid financial shape. Lehman Bros was next, then the financial roof caved-in . . . .

These cracks produced right now in debt markets will ultimately have to be played out via a course of lending failures. Tomorrow is Monday, October 20th. The debt clock is ticking. Then there is Monday, October 27th. Can stock markets get through October unscathed? Are we ‘that close’ to financial cracks turning into an potential avalanche?

October is historically a high risk month for financial markets. Getting through October would an accomplishment. This is watch.

Cryptocurrencies had a tough week . . . . Bitcoin down 10%. Ethereum down 13%. But the crypto bulls are out in-force this weekend garnering social media support parading eye-bulging crypto gains straight ahead to the speculative masses. But the whales may have a different opinion. They have the control, not the promoters . . . .

Overbought precious metals saw a nasty sell-off on Friday. Technically, the crypto world has entered a bear market. And have gold and silver prices peaked? The odds of a precious metal price top are definitely increasing.

Have precious metal prices peaked?

Lets take a look at a Bitcoin and Gold chart . . . . Impossible to predict human emotion, but charts do offer clues to price direction ahead.

A gold price run is driven by investor fear . . . A crypto price run is driven by investor greed . . . 2 different worlds.

Canola is showing sign of life . . . . Is there a badly needed price recovery ahead? Lets take a look. Where are the buyers and sellers located now? And are the dog-days of unrelenting wheat selling pressure finally over?

The feeder cattle market appears bullet-proof . . . . But a ‘limit down’ day on Friday, well that needs another look. It may trigger follow-through selling this week . . . .
